1.2016-election-marijuana-300x300Hi Everyone!

I want to thank everyone that worked so hard at getting the information out to our Voters for the Presidential Preference Election.  I heard our radio stations announcing over and over on Election Day who was eligible to vote and explaining just what the Presidential Preference Election is.  Our newspaper reporters called and stopped by, getting the correct information before putting it in print.  Yes, we still had some misinformed Voters, but it wasn’t due to all of you and your efforts to get the correct information out.  THANK YOU!!!  You are a great team to work with!

The Mohave County Board of Supervisors approved the canvass this morning so The Final Presidential Preference Election Results for our county are now posted on our website at the following link:  http://www.mohavecounty.us/ContentPage.aspx?id=118&cid=137

We had 63% of our Voters vote early!  If you were watching our web posting on Election Night, the first numbers that posted after 8 p.m. were mainly Early Voters!!  The poll sites had about 12,500 eligible Voters vote on Election Day.  Be sure and look at the Race Summary Report for the short version of the results.  The Precinct Detail Report breaks everything down by the individual Precincts.

We are already gearing up for the May 17, 2016, Special Election.  All registered Voters will be able to participate in the Special Election.  Lake Mohave Ranchos Grapevine Mesa Fire District will be having a Board Election at the same time, but that only involves the 209 Dolan Springs & 208 Meadview Precincts.  The Public Logic & Accuracy Testing of the new equipment will be held on April 15, 2016, at 9 a.m. and again at 2 p.m. here at the Administration Building located at 700 West Beale St., Kingman AZ.  Everyone is invited to come and observe the tests.

The last day to register to vote in the May 17 Election is April 18.  Early Ballots will begin coming out on April 20.  I will head to the AZ Strip area to begin training Poll Workers on April 19—starting the training schedule all over again!!  If anyone would like to sit in and observe one of our Poll Worker training sessions, give us a call and we can give you the time and the place.  You may also find the Training Manual and the Presentation on our website at the following link:  http://www.mohavecounty.us/ContentPage.aspx?id=118&cid=142

Just a reminder to our Political Parties:   The signature requirements for Precinct Committeemen are posted at the following link:   http://www.mohavecounty.us/ContentPage.aspx?id=118&cid=430     and the filing paperwork can be found at the following link: http://www.mohavecounty.us/ContentPage.aspx?id=118&cid=503

Candidate Filing for the Primary Election on August 30, 2016, will begin on May 2 and close on June 1 at 5 p.m.  Information on filing can be found at the following link:   http://www.mohavecounty.us/ContentPage.aspx?id=118&cid=503

The Secretary of State has not issued the Procedures Manual yet, but as soon as it comes out we will let all of you know and give you a link to it.  We are still using the 2014 Procedures Manual for now.

Again, “Thanks” to all of you for all you do to help our Elections Department, and the Voters of Mohave County!

Betty
