2014 Co-op Connections Business ExpoCooperative membership means more than just affordable and reliable electricity.  With the inception of Touchstone Energy’s Co-op Connections Program in January 2011, Mohave Electric members have saved $1,311,227 on prescription purchases.  With savings up to 85% on prescriptions as well as discounts on every day purchases, it’s easier than ever to keep money in your wallet.

“The savings continue to add up for our members using their Co-op Connections cards,” said Tyler Carlson, Mohave’s Chief Executive Officer. “We don’t control the wholesale energy market that drives our power costs, but we can work on ways like Co-op Connections that helps members save and promotes our local businesses as well.”

“When a member tells me their experience of how much they saved, or asks me for a card because their friend saved, it tells me our members are seeing the benefits, and that’s a great thing,” said Carlson.

Find out more at Mohave Electric’s 2015 Co-op Connections Business Expo on Friday, March 27th, from 10 am to 2 pm at the Bullhead Area Chamber auditorium.  Browse, shop and discover the many ways you can save.  Forty-five participating businesses will be on hand from specialty retailers to health care providers.  Lori Fonzi, Public Affairs and Communications Coordinator said, “It’s easy to save but you have to remember to use your card.  We want everyone to be familiar with participating businesses so we’re bringing them together in a casual and enjoyable venue.”  There will be giveaways, hourly door prize drawings, and lots of fun.  Three lucky grand prize winners will receive a $100 gift certificate to the Co-op Connections Business of their choice.

The Co-op Connections program began with the idea of saving members money with discounts on prescription purchases as well as with a few local businesses.  The program has grown to 112 local participating businesses and hundreds of national retailers.  Discounts are available on products and services including air conditioning services, restaurants, health and wellness facilities, automobile purchasing and servicing, banking, dog training, pet sitting and more.

The program also teams up with Coupons.com to offer hundreds of valuable coupons and the Cash Back Mall offers cash back rewards for online purchases with major retailers, “Many of which people purchase from anyway,” Fonzi said.

The greatest benefit of the program is the Healthy Savings discounts on prescriptions, dental, vision, chiropractic, hearing aids, lab and imaging, helping members save more and live healthier.  Mohave member Pat Meyer was ecstatic when she found out she saved $160 on her new prescription glasses.

The card is free to all Mohave members. It doesn’t expire and there are no charges or annual fees.  Any member of the family can use the card.  “Bringing value to our members is the cooperative difference,” adds Fonzi.  For more information, call (928) 763-1100.
