mine workersLake Havasu City, AZ – The Mojave Desert Minerals Gold Road Mines located in Oatman has informed Mohave County that it will be closing within two weeks with gradual layoffs affecting over sixty employees.  This closing comes on the heels of the Mineral Park Mine closing in Kingman this past December which a loss of 383 jobs.  According to Supervisor Buster Johnson, “Mohave County and the state will work in conjunction and do all that we can to help employees get assistance in the face of their job loss.”  Mohave County’s Community Services Department will hold a job fair on January 22nd for employees of both Mineral Park and Mojave Desert Minerals Gold Mines.  According to the County’s Community Services Department Director, Susie Parel-Duranceau, the county will partner with One-Stop Partners to assist with rapid response and re-employment orientation. For further information on scheduled job fair, please contact Mohave County’s Community Services Department at 928-753-0723.
