Supervisor Steve Moss says Mohave County is trying to take the lead in pushing for statewide reform in the groundwater regulation arena. Moss said last month that Mohave enjoyed success and support when it floated reform initiatives at the County Supervisor Association’s legislative summit in late October.

Moss said the county is advocating such things as water conservation requirements for agricultural enterprises and well metering to monitor for water table fluctuation and basin depletion. He said it’s vitally important that citizens push state officials in support of regulatory initiatives as they advance to the state legislature and the Governor’s water augmentation council.
