Ongoing effort to restart production at the Moss Mine east of Bullhead city was detailed during separate September 6 meetings of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors and Bullhead City Council. Northern Vertex Mining Corp. President and CEO Dick Whittington made the same points during his presentations.
Whittington said a rebound in the precious metals market helped the company secury $5.5-million in investment over the summer. He said another $35-million dollars in investment and loans is required before production can begin at the gold and silver mine.
Whittington noted that his firm has bought out a 30% partner to assume total ownership of the venture. He said Dr. David Stone has been hired as the project manager and that the Tucson-based M3 Engineering & Technology Corp. has been retained for engineering, procurement and construction management functions.
Whittington provided no estimated timetable for renewed production at the Moss Mine.
