Two mountain hikers trying to save a dog wound up needing rescuing
themselves Thursday afternoon.  Phoenix Fire Captain Chris Fitzmaurice
says the women hiking North Mountain got stuck 100

yards from the trail
while trying to rescue the dog they thought was injured.  As the two
unhurt women descended with the dog in tow, a third hiker who fell
asked fire crews for help down.  That woman was able to drive herself
for treatment and the other two hikers took the lone dog to a shelter.
