Lake Havasu City private practice attorney Ken Moyer and Bullhead City-based Mohave County Superior Court Judge Rick Williams are taking another shot at possible appointment to the Division One Arizona Court of Appeals.
Both men were among a group of five finalists considered earlier this year, but Arizona Governor Doug Ducey appointed judges from other counties to two vacancies. Williams and Moyer are now among a group of 22 applicants for the bench spot vacated by the retirement of Judge Patricia K. Norris.
The Commission on Appellate Court Appointments will review the applications and hear comments at a public meeting on July 18. The meeting will be held in room 345 of the Arizona State Courts Building, 1501 W. Washington, Phoenix AZ 85007.
Citizens may address the commission on that day or send written comments to 1501 W. Washington, Suite 221, Phoenix, AZ 85007 or to firstname.lastname@example.org. Comments must be received by July 13th to be considered and anonymous comments cannot be considered.
During the July 18th meeting, the commission will decide which applicants will be interviewed for the opening. The commission will recommend at least three nominees for the opening to the Governor before he makes an appointment decision.
