A judge has found the man accused of a gruesome murder mentally fit to stand trial.  Forty-nine-year-old Kenneth Wakefield is accused of stabbing a decapitating his wife last summer and stashing her body in their bedroom closet.  He is also accused of decapitating  his two dogs and then mutilating himself.  Neighbors

discovered a bloody Wakefield outside his apartment complex where he had cut off his left arm at the forearm and gouged out his right eye with a knife.  Wakefield has a history of psychotic episodes and served ten years in a mental hospital for stabbing a relative. The judge ruled Wakefield must continue taking his anti-psychotic medication to ensure he is mentally capable of aiding in his defense.  Wakefield has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.
