A Navajo Nation Police officer has been killed in the line of duty.  According to Navajo Nation tribe spokesman Ricky Abasta, a man armed with an AR-15 assault rifle was holding his family hostage.  The suspect who has been identified as 24-year-old Justin Fowler, shot at Navajo Nation Police officers and ran from

the scene.   The manhunt came to an end hours later when Fowler was found about 40 miles away from his home in Red Valley, Arizona and engaged two officers in a shootout.  The suspect was shot and killed, but not before killing One officer who died at the scene.  The other officer has been hospitalized.  An investigation is underway to determine whether Fowler died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound or if he died as a result of the shootout with police.
