The sign at the Mohave Museum in downtown Kingman will be replaced with a new sign featuring LED lighting and a message board. The Mohave County Historical Society and the City of Kingman will jointly fund the $32,000 project.

Historical Society President Bill Wales said the sign can serve a mix of uses. He said it can post short notes welcoming visitors to town or messages noting various museum and community events.

“We can use it to promote all kinds of things—Chilling on Beale, a parade,” Wales said. “This will be shining light for people to see what’s happening.”

Wales said the sign should work nicely with the Welcome Arch that is planned to stretch across Beale Street nearby.

The city will provide $17,000 and the Society will contribute $15,000 to purchase and install the sign by August, if not sooner.
