JSN - Laughlin Fireworks mistakeReports of shots being fired last night in Laughlin were a bit premature as authorities quickly learned that a firecracker had been set off in the Monte Del Sol neighborhood.  Las Vegas Metro Police Department dispatchers received an emergency call from Laughlin shortly after 10 p.m. Monday night reporting gun fire near the Vistas Apartment Complex. Metro officers who were patrolling the Riverwood Apartment complex reportedly heard the loud popping noises, as well, and responded to the Monte Del Sol neighborhood, which is just east of the apartment complex.  When the officers arrived in the area, they talked with several residents who quickly dispelled the notion of gun fire. According to a Metro spokesman, one witness told officers that after car pulled into the neighborhood, a passenger rolled down their window and tossed out what was believed to be a very large firecracker. The pranksters then fled the area.  There were no injuries reported.  Those responsible for releasing the fireworks have not been located.
