A three mile stretch of the Oatman highway is closed due to flooding. The Mohave County public works department says water was flowing over the highway Tuesday morning and that lots of sand deposits would have to be cleaned up once the flooding subsides.

The highway is closed from a location about one mile north of Topock to Golden Shores. County officials said it could be Wednesday morning before the highway is reopened.

Motorists should detour through Needles.
