image003In order to improve traffic safety, Mohave County, in conjunction with ADOT and Intermountain West Civil Constructors, Inc., will be applying thermoplastic centerline and edgeline striping on approximately 7.5 miles of Oatman Highway as part of a High Risk Rural Road Project.

Intermountain West will begin work on May 9, 2016, and anticipates completion on or about May 13, 2016. Beginning on Monday, May 9, work is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Oatman Hwy will be closed in two-hour increments during this time to allow crews to apply thermoplastic striping. The road will open at the end of each two-hour shift for local traffic, while preparations are made for the next batch of material.

The road will only be closed during work activity and will re-open overnight at 6:00. This schedule may vary somewhat depending on temperature requirements.

Project extents:

  • Oatman Highway – Mile Post 25.5 (just west of Silver Creek Road) to Mile Post 34 (just east of Cool Springs).

Motorists traveling through the project area should plan to take an alternative route during the road closure. For additional information, contact Jed Noble, P.E. at the Mohave County Public Works Department Engineering Division at (928)757-0910 or
