Ohio’s Governor is in Arizona stumping for a federal balanced budget amendment at the State Capitol. John Kasich joined Arizona lawmakers who are planning to offer proposals in the upcoming state legislature.
The Republican Kasich says Ohio’s a great example of how it passed legislation aiming to get our nation in the black.
Lawmakers such as current Representative and Senator-Elect John Kavanagh say the whole idea is sending a message to Congress to quit spending money it does not have. Incoming House Minority Whip David Livingston echos, this is not a Republican or Democratic issue, or Arizona one for that matter, but about the United States living within its means.
The proposed legislation would call a constitutional convention to approve a federal balanced budget amendment. 38 states must agree to the convention and so far, 24 are on board.
