duiMohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Andrew Trenton Vicente, 24, of Norwalk, CA, early Saturday (5/30) afternoon for OUI and OUI with a blood alcohol concentration over .08%, misdemeanors.  At about 1:15 p.m., deputies observed a watercraft traveling in Thompson Bay with an excessive wake.  Deputies observed the watercraft accelerate and create a large wake behind it about a mile away from the buoys.  Deputies conducted a traffic stop and contacted Vicente, the operator.  During conversations with Vicente, he said that he is aware of the no wake zone, but he thought it would be fine since he was about 50 feet away from the buoys.  Deputies smelled an odor of alcohol on Vicente.  Further conversations with Vicente, he admitted to having three beers earlier.  Following the field sobriety tests (FST’s), Vicente was taken into custody and transported to Contact Point where an analysis revealed his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) to be .110%.  He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail without incident.  San Bernardino Sheriff’s Waterways Deputies assisted by transporting Vicente’s passenger to a resort while towing the personal watercraft.
