U.S. Marshals teamed up with state and local law enforcement agencies to arrest individuals with outstanding arrest warrants.  David Gonzales, U.S. Marshal for the District of Arizona, says “Christmas and the holiday season can be the most wonderful time of year, but it can also be the most dangerous.  Police see a

spike in crime during the holidays because people are more vulnerable to theft, burglary and robbery by criminals taking advantage in the hectic time in our lives.”  He says, “Operation Grinch Stopper” is designed to target fugitives who also like the holiday season because it provides for a perfect opportunity to commit crime.”  Spokeswoman Amelia Swengaugen says 197 individuals were taken into custody in “Operation Grinch 3!”  She says “we go after individuals were felony warrants for property crime that include robbery, burglary and larceny.”
