Businesses, organizations, and governments in Mohave County are invited to be showcased at the 9th annual Spring College, Career and Expo fair. High school students from Bullhead City, Mohave Valley, Needles, Laughlin, Kingman, Lake Havasu City, and Parker will be invited to attend the event. The participants would highlight potential career options within their organizations, and they would discuss with students appropriate certifications or degrees to support those career options. Colleges will also be featured at the event. “We want to show high school students what college and career options Mohave County has to offer them,” said Diane Beardsley, event recruiter and Arizona GEAR UP coordinator for River Valley High School in Mohave Valley. “We want to show our youth that they can stay and prosper in the communities along the Colorado River.” Arizona GEAR UP is funded by a federal grant and follows students from seventh through 12th grades to support their college and career aspirations. The event is scheduled to be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4 at the Mojave Crossing Event Center and Arena at 101 Aztec Road in Ft. Mohave. There is no cost for participants. Participants are asked to RSVP by 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6 to Beardsley at (928) 788-1551 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
