The parents of a two-year-old girl who drowned in the family pool are facing charges related to the baby’s death.  Deputy Tracy Suitt with the Pima county Sheriff’s Office says the baby was left in the care of her father when the girl ended up falling into the backyard

pool and drowning.  Officers say the pool did have a fence barrier, however, the doggy door leading to the backyard pool area was propped open.  Detectives also found drug paraphernalia indicating drug use.  The father allegedly told officers he lost track of the baby for up to 15 minutes.  Authorities arrested the baby’s father, 23-year-old Sean Hughes, and booked him on Second Degree Murder and child abuse.  The girl’s mother, 25-year-old Heather Rivas was taking a nap at the time of the baby’s drowning.  She has been charged with child abuse.
