imagARMEDKingman police are investigating similar armed robbery attempts that failed last Friday, August 26. Elderly females were loading items into their cars when a man in a vehicle threatened them at gunpoint, demanding that they hand over their purses.

Neither woman was injured and neither of them surrendered their purse. Deputy Kingman police chief Rusty Cooper said the incidents were just six hours apart but that it’s not yet known if they were connected.

The first robbery attempt occurred at 6:00 a.m. in the Walmart parking lot on Stockton Hill Road. The second was reported at 11:50 a.m. in the parking lot of Basha’s on Andy Devine Avenue.

Cooper said the victims reported the gunman was in a car in the first attempt and a pickup truck during the second failed robbery. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
