A car crash west of Phoenix leaves one person dead, and a semi driver nowhere to be found. Bart Graves with D-P-S says that semi triggered the chain reaction on westbound Interstate ten in Tonopah at 339th Avenue.
Graves says the semi changed lanes, hitting a westbound Nissan, hurling it past the median into an eastbound Cadillac, killing a passenger. The victim died at the scene. Graves says, it’s believed the semi was a white freight liner, but there’s no other information on the vehicle. And, he says, it’s possible the driver may not have been aware of the accident he caused.
D-P-S is asking anyone who may have been on interstate ten in Tonopah at 5:00 p.m. Sunday evening to call D-P-S or 480-WITNESS. Graves says, chances are good somebody saw something because it’s a moderately traveled stretch of road during the time of the accident.
