Payless2_2014Bullhead City, Ariz. – “The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Colorado River are pleased to announce that we have again been selected as an official partner of Payless Gives ‘Shoes 4 Kids,’ an annual giving program from Payless ShoeSource,” BGCCR President & CEO Teri Tomlinson said. “We are among a large number of charitable agencies representing all 50 states.” On Wednesday, December 17, exactly 90 members took part in the program, hosted locally by Payless ShoeSource at 2840 Highway 95 in Bullhead City. According to the company, this is the seventh year of the Payless Gives
program. Payless also attributes studies showing that properly fitting shoes are important for a child’s health and development, a striking number of children do not own a pair of shoes that fit. “Our Boys & Girls Club and Payless ShoeSource are working together to remedy that here in Bullhead City, Fort Mohave and Laughlin,” Tomlinson said. By helping families who struggle to provide their children with basic essentials on a daily basis, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Colorado River, in partnering with the Payless Gives “Shoes 4 Kids” program, hopes to relieve some of the stress parents feel during the holidays and bring joy to as many children as possible. “We would like to thank our volunteer board members for lending a helping hand to give our kids just the right fitting shoes and also mention for kids who may have missed out on Payless’ generosity, they will have their chance to pick out a pair of shoes very soon,” Tomlinson added. “We would also like to thank Payless Store Manager Joelle Perez and store Associate Michaela Mudge for their unending patience and fantastic customer service, while putting smiles on the faces of 90 of our Club Kids.”
