Bullhead City Police were called to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center early Thursday morning for a report of a man who was shot with a pellet air rifle multiple times.

The victim and his girlfriend reported that 61-year-old Terry Harold James gave them a car ride and James became angry. He stopped the vehicle in the 600 block of Marina Boulevard and told them to get out.

James then reportedly grabbed a pellet air rifle and started shooting at them. The male was struck about 6 times. The female was not struck. According to medical personnel, the victim will have to undergo surgery to remove the pellets in his body.

Terry James is known to have erratic behavior and has had prior issues dealing with police. At approximately 2:30 p.m., a S.W.A.T. mission/ search warrant was executed at James’ residence in the 1000 block of Chaparral Drive. Some methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located in his home.

He was arrested without any incident for two counts of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct with a weapon, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. .
