A California man operating a personal watercraft accidentally ran over two friends in the Colorado River. The Mohave County sheriff’s office said the incident occurred at about 1:20 p.m. on Saturday in Mohave Valley.

Agency spokeswoman Trish Carter said David Jackson, 57 was traveling at five miles an hour or less when he was unable to turn the watercraft that struck two female adults in the water. One of them suffered a broken collar bone.

Alcohol was not a factor.
