Adult mosquito control application DID NOT begin on Thursday evening, May 26, 2016. Fogging will now begin on Tuesday evening May 31, 2016 around 8:30 p.m., weather permitting, (ground fogging cannot occur during rain or high winds).
Mohave County Department of Public Health received numerous calls with concerns regarding the lack of time to prepare for the fogging event. To ensure that the areas that will be impacted by the fogging have enough time to prepare, fogging will be delayed until after the holiday weekend.
The Mohave County Department of Public Health attempted to do mosquito surveillance around the Fort Mohave School and Park but the traps left in those areas were vandalized. The purpose of the trapping and the surveillance is for community protection. We ask that people refrain from tampering with the traps.
Baron Pest Control was awarded the contract to provide larvacide and fogging services within Mohave County and will be conducting the ground fogging application. Areas to fog include the Quail Run Development, the business and residential area on the SE corner of Mountain View Road and Courtwright Road, and the community north of Courtwright Road between Tropicana Avenue and Ranchero Lane.
