On December 19, 2014, at approximately 11:30 a.m. the Lake Havasu City Police Department located and arrested 22-year old Jessica Johnson during a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Mesquite Avenue for her alleged involvement in a stabbing incident that occurred on December 8, 2014, at a residence in the 2300 block of Shorewood Drive. A traffic stop was initiated on a vehicle in the 1900 block of Mesquite Avenue due to a civil traffic violation. As the officer approached the vehicle he noticed a female ducked down in the backseat in an attempt to hide. The female was ordered to sit up. The female complied and then identified herself as Jessica Johnson. Johnson was taken into custody without incident and taken to the Lake Havasu City Police Department. The investigator assigned to the case responded to the police department and conducted an interview with Johnson related to the December 8, 2014 incident. The incident from Shorewood Drive left 42-year old John Hubbard, a Lake Havasu City resident, with a stab wound near his left armpit that required emergency surgery at the Havasu Regional Medical Center. The initial investigation led to the identification of Niger Noriega as being involved in the incident along with a female companion, later identified as Johnson. Noriega and Johnson fled the scene in a small 2-door hatchback car. Noriega was taken into custody on December 9, 2014, and was found to be in possession of the 2-door hatchback car. The vehicle was found to be registered to Johnson. Jessica Johnson was charged with one count of aggravated assault. At her initial appearance, Johnson received a $100,000 bond and was later transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
