Officers were dispatched and began arriving in the area within two minutes.  Officers confirmed that 42-year old John Hubbard, a Lake Havasu City resident, had been stabbed during an altercation with another man and was in need of medical attention.  Officers learned from witnesses that Hubbard had been stabbed by another male subject that had fled the scene with a female companion in a small 2-door hatchback car that was possibly green or purple in color. Detectives responded to the scene to conduct the investigation. During the investigation an investigative lead, 18-year old Niger Noriega, was identified as being involved in an altercation with the victim.  Noriega and an unknown female companion arrived at the Shorewood Drive residence where an altercation between Hubbard and Noriega escalated into a fight.  During the fight witnesses observed the unknown female begin to tase Hubbard, with a small stun gun type device, and then at some point Hubbard was apparently stabbed.  Noriega and the unknown female quickly fled the scene. Niger Noriega is considered an investigative lead and detectives are actively seeking to locate him and also identify the female that accompanied him. Hubbard was transported to the Havasu Regional Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery for a stab wound that penetrated under his left armpit.  Hubbard was listed in stable condition following the surgery. The investigation by detectives is on-going and additional information will be provided as it becomes available. Any person with information as to the whereabouts of Niger Noriega is asked to call the Lake Havasu City Police Department at (928)855-1171.  Anonymous information can also be called into Lake Havasu Silent Witness at 928-854-TIPS (8477).
