Due to overwhelming participation and Camp I Wanna Go finishing for the summer, the Lake Havasu City Fire Department is extending its Babysitting/Home Safety class to accommodate more students this year. There is availability for 16 students during the week of July 21 through July 24.
Whether kids watch their younger siblings, baby-sit with help from a friend, are seasoned babysitters, or are alone at home, the seminars will provide valuable information. Students will learn how to handle the responsibilities and dangers of being home alone or babysitting and how to handle them safely and effectively. Subjects taught will cover fire safety, water safety, kitchen and bathroom safety, first aid, and more.
There is a $30 non-refundable registration fee. Pre-registration is required to attend the seminar. A parent or guardian must register the student(s) for the seminar. Scholarships, which have been provided by Lake Havasu City Kiwanis Club, are still available.
For more information on the program and to register contact Kathy Black, Public Education Specialist at (928) 855-3609.
