The body of a man who went missing late Sunday was recovered Monday from the Arizona side of the Colorado River in Bullhead City.

Police Department spokeswoman Carina Spotts said law enforcement responded at 11:45 p.m. to reports that a man in the water by the Golden Nugget casino in Laughlin appeared to be in distress. An unsuccessful search was suspended overnight.

The body of the possible drowning victim was recovered from the river at 8:50 a.m. Monday near Moser Avenue in Bullhead City.

Spotts said it’s unclear how the California man came to be in the water. His name is withheld pending notification of kin.
