President Barack Obama has touched down in Phoenix for a first-time visit to the Arizona veterans’ hospital.  Obama is making a quick stop to the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center to discuss improvements for veterans.  Last summer, a whistleblower from the Phoenix VA claimed veterans were dying due to

bureaucratic delays in healthcare triggering a national firestorm.  Obama is expected to announce the creation of an advisory committee to address a way to improve the VA’s service to veterans.  Senator John McCain, who has been critical of the President’s handling of the VA, will be in attendance.  Governor Doug Ducey, Senator Jeff Flake, as well as two other Republican representatives from Arizona will also join the President.
