A Bullhead City man faces prosecution for threatening public officials. Police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said Matthew Farrell, 59, was upset about a civil court case.

Fromelt said police began investigating when informed a male subject had made a number of phone calls threatening the lives of the Bullhead City Mayor, County judges and a city prosecutor. She said police were able to obtain the phone number from which the threatening calls were made to Justice Court and the City Clerk’s Office.

Farrell was located and taken into custody at a Bullhead City bar at 9:30 p.m. on April 30.  He was booked into the Mohave County jail for five counts of threatening and intimidating.
