The Arizona Humane Society is teaming up with Animal Planet for the Puppy Bowl.  Spokeswoman Bretta Nelson with the Humane Society says Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl is heading to Phoenix!  CityScape in Downtown Phoenix is hosting the free family event at the “Puppy Bowl Café.”  She says “we will be

taking over the Corner Café as part of Verizon’s Super Bowl Central and the puppies will hit the field every day at 10 a.m. from Thursday, January 29 through Super Bowl Sunday, February 1st.”

Football’s furry frenzy has an amazing line-up of lab-chow mixes, shepherd-mixes, little Chihuahuas, and pit bulls.  About 20 puppies are in training and preparing for adoption day which is Super Bowl Sunday, February 1. The adoption fees are $250 which does include spay and neutering, their first vaccines and a free follow-up exam.

Nelson says the Puppy Bowl shines a spotlight on animal shelters.  She adds “this is just a huge awareness for shelter pets as a whole and it’s one of the few events going on over Super Bowl week that is free to attend and is family friendly, which is a big bonus.”  This is the second year Animal Planet has taken the Puppy Bowl on the road to the Super Bowl’s host city.

Animal Planet will be streaming the Puppy Bowl live beginning Thursday, January 29 through Super Bowl Sunday, February 1st.
