A newborn puppy trapped inside a drainage pipe for hours is alive and well thanks to the efforts of a few Phoenix cops.  Officers delivering a drug-related search warrant to a West Phoenix home discovered several dogs on the property including two dead puppies.  Officers searched the property and found another

puppy stuck in an open drainage pipe.  The puppy was whimpering and making
noises sending officers into action to save him.  Officers spent ten hours trying to rescue the little guy.  Crews used saws and drills to break through the pipe, as well as digging up the ground to reach the puppy.  The puppy was rescued and transferred to the Arizona Humane Society for medical treatment.  It’s believed the owners left their pregnant dog behind after being evicted from the home.
