photoA bighorn sheep died February 25 after ramming a vehicle on highway 68 in the Black mountains. The Golden Valley man at the wheel of a small, older model sedan said it was his most bizarre experience in nearly 40 years of driving. The Golden Valley resident said he never even saw the ram but felt it bump along the driver’s side of his vehicle. He said he was motoring at about 65 miles an hour when the collision occurred near the top of the pass while he was driving back from Bullhead City. Neither the man, nor his wife were injured, though the vehicle sustained significant damage. The ram reportedly hobbled into a ditch and died. Arizona Game and Fish officials characterized the incident as highly unusual.
