The notion of NIMBY (not in my back yard) was readily apparent during the September 20 Kingman City Council meeting. Residents told council members they support recycling, but not in their neighborhood.

They’ve been complaining for weeks about eleven green-colored recycling dumpsters placed along Southern Avenue on the north end of Pawnee Park. Council members said overwhelming opposition led to their vote to direct staff to move the bins.

They will be placed in the vicinity of Railroad and Louise until a better long term location can be identified.
