The Board of Supervisors has agreed to reorganize the Mohave County Community Services Department in light of the retirement of Director Susie Parel-Duranceau and Jen Miles, the Workforce Development administrator.

Miles retired September 2 and Duranceau’s 30-year career with the county will end September 30.

“It’s been a wonderful journey,” Duranceau said at the September 6 board meeting.

County Administrator Mike Hendrix and supervisors heaped praised upon Duranceau. Hendrix said Duranceau, more than others because of the scope of her work, has had an enormous impact on the lives of county residents, many of them underprivileged.

The Board approved Duranceau’s recommendation that slightly restructures the Department and named Dave Wolfe as as her successor.
