Diane Richards was indicted and arrested six weeks ago, but the woman charged with stealing more than $1.1-million from the city of Kingman is still without legal counsel. Richards did not retain the Phoenix lawyer who represented her at arraignment last month.
The Kingman woman faces a case management hearing next Monday but no defense attorney has yet entered a formal notice of appearance on her behalf. Blake Schritter said Mohave County Indigent Legal Services continues to attempt to secure a defense attorney for Richards.
Richards faces possible prison time if convicted in a 21 count criminal indictment alleging she abused her former position as Budget Analyst to loot the public treasury.
