burrosBullhead City officials keep reminding the public about safety threats associated with wild burros roaming along the Bullhead Parkway. Three more burros were killed when struck by vehicles just before the holidays.
City Manager Toby Cotter told city council members Tuesday that the Bureau of Land management said that cold weather conditions prompted movement of the burros from their range in the nearby Black Mountains.
Council member Steve D’Amico urged citizens to refrain from feeding and petting the animals. He said burros are smart and will return to areas where they expect rewards of one kind or another because of previous activity.
