The Black Mountain school in Golden Valley was secured to protect students for several hours following a traffic accident this morning. This was to make certain the school was safe from any possible intrusion.

The Mohave County Sheriff’s office and school district officials initiated the safety measures after it was reported a subject involved in a traffic accident near the school was armed and made threatening comments. Agency spokeswoman Trish Carter said the measures were lifted before lunch after personnel were unable to locate any such subject.

Carter said it appeared the person they were looking for was someone who was transported for medical attention following the accident.
