search and rescueMohave County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Units responded Tuesday (10/27) afternoon to overdue subjects traveling on an all-terrain vehicle in the Standard Wash area, south of Lake Havasu City.  The reporting party said that their friends contacted him and they advised that their vehicle had broken down and they were okay as they have food and water.  Approximately 3:00 p.m., SAR units responded to the Standard Wash at Highway 95.  Information was learned that the subject’s location was 11 miles east of Highway 95.  Multiple SAR teams were deployed.   At about 6:00 p.m., SAR members located the subjects near their broken down all-terrain vehicle.  John Yacks, 68, and Bill Mathews, 71, both of Lake Havasu City were in good health.  They were transported to the entrance of Standard Wash where their truck was parked.
