IMG_1546From the KAFF NEWS ROOM: A shooting this morning at NAU took the life of a freshman student and injured three others. NAU Police say Colin Brough was killed and three others were wounded after 18-year-old Steven Jones opened fire outside Mountain View Hall at 1:20 this morning after a dispute between two groups. The residence hall houses the majority of Greek students at NAU. Wounded were students Nicholas Prato, Kyle Zientek and Nicolas Piring and they are being treated at Flagstaff Medical Center. The injured are reportedly members of the Delta Chi fraternity at NAU. The school is not on lockdown and NAUPD is working with the Flagstaff Police Department on the investigation. Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick has tweeted out a statement saying she is “heartbroken by news of a fatal shooting at NAU.” She says her thoughts and prayers go out to the families of all in Flagstaff. Senator John McCain has also tweeted, sending his thoughts and prayers to NAU and Flagstaff. NAU has set up a family assistance center in the ballroom of the 1899 Bar and Grill.
