The Mohave County Sheriff’s office is investigating a deadly altercation in the northwest Arizona community of Golden Valley. Agency spokeswoman Trish Carter said deputies responded at 2:40 a.m. Saturday, April 1 to a home in the 3500 block of N Magma Road.

Carter said Matthew Joseph Ochoa, 27, Golden Valley, was dead at the scene. She said investigators believe Ochoa stabbed another man and that the unidentified subject shot and killed Ochoa.

Carter had no information regarding the injury to the unidentified party or the nature of the dispute. She said the county attorney’s office will review the ongoing investigation to determine if any charges are appropriate.
