Over 100 underprivileged children shared the spirit of Christmas with law enforcement personnel Saturday, for the 19th annual Shop With A Cop program. “What a memorable morning for the kids and the officers,” said Bullhead City Police Sergeant Chuck Jones. “The program shares the Christmas spirit and gives children a positive experience with police officers.” The children, who were chosen to be part of the program through the local school system, started the morning by having breakfast at the Elks Lodge. They then rode with officers to Wal-Mart in a parade of patrol cars equipped with lights and sirens. Officers and employees from the Bullhead City Police Department, Mohave County Sheriff’s Office and Search and Rescue, Fort Mojave Tribal Police Department, National Parks Service, Bureau of Land Management, Bullhead City Fire Department and various volunteers helped each child spend a $100 gift card at Wal-Mart. They also received a custom cupcake from Mohave Steakhouse and had their picture taken with Santa. Thank you to all the community members, organizations and businesses who donated money to the Shop With A Cop program and made a child’s Christmas brighter this holiday season.
