A reward is being offered for the capture of a shop-lifter who assaulted a Phoenix police officer.  Sergeant Derek Elmore with Silent Witness says the suspect stole several items from Kohl’s Department Store and nearly ran over a cop when he tried to drive away.  Elmore says a female officer attempted to arrest the suspect

who had already gotten into his car and started the engine.  The officer “was caught up in the car” when the suspect hit the gas and sped off, dragging the officer several yards.  The officer “freed herself after about ten yards and tumbled away from the car.”  The suspect got away in a white Ford Mustang with tinted windows.  The suspect is described as a white male, five-eight, 155 pounds, late 20’s, brown bushy hair with long sideburns.  A reward of up to $1,000 is being offer to anyone with information leading to an arrest.  Call Silent Witness at 480-Witness.
