Lake Havasu City and the Lake Havasu City Interagency Council announce the Shuttle Voucher Program will start Monday, March 30, 2015. This program is designed to provide qualified low income city residents with transportation assistance using a contracted local shuttle service provider.
To qualify for the program, low income city residents will need to register with The Lake Havasu City Interagency Council for income verification. Once qualified, program participants will be issued a voucher that can be used with a pre-designated shuttle service. Shuttle vouchers will be valued at $5.00 per ride and program participants are responsible for all costs exceeding the $5.00 value. Program participants will also be issued a program photo ID card in an effort to deter fraudulent use.
Vouchers may be used for shuttle service within the Lake Havasu City limits only. The service is available Monday through Friday 6 AM to 7 PM. Only the pre-qualified contract shuttle company listed on the voucher can be used for this service. To help ensure a safe ride, Lake Havasu City conducts background checks on the program’s shuttle service provider and its drivers and issues them photo ID cards as well.
