The Lake Havasu City Fire Department received a 911 call for assistance at the S.A.R.A. Park hiking trail. Six hikers from California, five of which were children, had run out of water and were getting overcome by the heat. Two crews in Rangers responded from S.A.R.A. Park and a third crew responded in the fire boat to the shore line and hiked to their location. Due to the location of the patients and the extreme temperatures, two helicopters were dispatched to the scene to assist in patient transport. After the medics reached the patients and started treatment, four patients were air lifted to Havasu Regional Medical Center. The other two patients hiked to the fire boat unassisted and were transported to Contact Point for transport to Havasu Regional Medical Center.
