A Lake Havasu City man was arrested after assaulting his father about midnight Friday, July 22. The suspect had fled on foot when police responded to a domestic disturbance call at Locust Lane.

The victim and a witness told officers that Jacob Pettigrew was intoxicated and belligerent before assaulting his father. Pettigrew, 31, allegedly punched his father in the face and tried to choke him before striking him with a dining room chair.

The victim suffered a broken arm trying to block the chair. Pettigrew was located and arrested at a nearby park about 3 ½ hours after the assault.

Pettigrew was jailed for disorderly conduct, aggravated assault and criminal damage.
