The Tri-State’s very own Colorado River Toastmasters Club is conducting a speech contest on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 6:30 pm (AZ time).  The semi-annual event will be at the Chaparral Country Club located at 1260 Mohave Drive in Fort Mohave, Arizona.
This season’s contest theme is “Fall into Toastmasters”, as selected by Club President Maryann Shepard.  Local club members will compete in two categories.
The first opportunity for competition is a prepared speech based in humor and it must be between 5 to 7 minutes in length.   The second opportunity will be an evaluation session where contestants will be required to give speech evaluations based upon a guest speaker’s speech.
Each speech evaluation will be approximately 2 to 3 minutes long.  Each category has a Contest Chair and their experience in the contest will be a credit to their leadership skills progression.
Attendance is free and open to the adult public.
NOTICE: Audience needed!!  The winner of each category will advance to the District/Regional level competition held in Las Vegas.  Audiences in Las Vegas will be very large by comparison. Public speaking forums do require an audience.  Please come, support our local participants, and better prepare them for the Las Vegas experience.
