The sounds of gleeful children ring out from Cecil Davis Park as parents and children give Kingman’s new splash pad a tryout. Area kids put the new water park features to the test during an unofficial opening on Saturday, September 3.

“It’s a wonderful thing. The credit goes to the Venture Club. They’re the ones that raised the money,” said Guy Reynolds, Parks Superintendent for the City of Kingman. “All we did was partner with them and enjoy participating in the construction process.”

Reynolds said the park is drawing more visitors than ever before and that the Splash  Pad is getting good reviews.

“Everybody seems happy. They love it. The features are nice and they work well,” Reynolds said. “We love the Rt. 66 tower. It’s a model of the one downtown and the way it drops water is awesome.”

Initially the Splash Pad is open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., seven days a week.
