The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office may be one step closer to finding the suspect who shot a deputy last week during a routine traffic stop.   Sheriff’s deputies surrounded a Tempe apartment complex following a shots fired call and a barricade situation ensued.  Nearby apartments were evacuated and a robot was

sent into the suspect’s home.  One person has been detained following the stand-off.  An MCSO spokesman said the standoff may be related to a shooting that wounded MCSO Deputy Bryan Wisda.  Wisda was shot in the legs while conducting a traffic stop when someone drove up behind him and opened fire.  Wisda has been released from the hospital.
