A man in a stand-off with Phoenix police fires two rounds at officers and turns the gun on himself.  Sergeant Trent Crump with Phoenix police says officers responded to a call at 43rd Avenue and Cactus about a man who was having a tyrannical rant about police.  The suspect’s anti-police rant in front of his family

indicated he wanted to have a shootout with police. The suspect’s three children fled the home and called for help.  When officers arrived, the suspect shot at two police officers, who suffered minor injuries. After a short barricade situation and evacuation of a few area homes, police discovered the man had shot himself.  Police say there is a history of mental illness with the man.
